Diamond Academy
Developing the Players of Tomorrow
At Diamond Tennis, we believe that quality coaching starts with building excellent fundamentals. Strong technical skills, movement, and a love of the game provide the foundation for long-term success, whatever level a player ultimately reaches. While we welcome players of all ages, we specialise in developing primary school-aged players during the most important stages of their tennis journey.
A Pathway to County-Level Tennis
Diamond Academy is our invitation-only development programme for young players who demonstrate the commitment, attitude, and potential to progress towards county-level tennis and beyond.
Built on more than 20 years of experience in developing competitive players, our programme is designed to nurture talented young athletes in a positive, challenging, and supportive environment. Our focus is not only on developing excellent tennis players but also on fostering resilience, confidence, and a lifelong passion for the sport.
Every player follows an individual development pathway, with progress reviewed regularly to ensure they continue to receive the appropriate level of coaching, training, and competition.
Programme Commitment
Players accepted onto the Diamond Academy commit to:
Two 30-minute individual coaching sessions each week.
Two academy squad training sessions each week.
Competing in a minimum of 12 external competitions each year.
Following an individual development plan tailored to their goals and stage of development.
All players are assessed before joining the programme to ensure they are placed in the most suitable training group. From there, our coaching team works closely with each player and their family to support their ongoing development.
Entry to the Programme
The Diamond Academy is by invitation only. Players currently training within our Diamond Hubs programme may be invited to apply as they progress through our development pathway.
We also welcome enquiries from players who are currently training elsewhere and are looking for a structured, long-term development programme.
Information for Coaches
If you are a coach and would like to recommend a player for the Diamond Academy, please contact our Director of Tennis, Sena Tengey, at [email protected].
When making an enquiry, please include details of the player’s current goals, coaching programme, training schedule, and competition calendar. This information allows us to assess whether the Diamond Academy is the right fit and to ensure the player is placed in the most appropriate training environment.
