Diamond Learn

Diamond Learn

Aimed at children who want to be tennis players, play at least once a week and are keen to compete for their school. The sessions are carefully structured for players to learn the skills to play as quickly as possible. The highly successful Diamond Tracker system comes as standard. Trackers are used so players, parents and coaches are clear on the which skills are being taught. Skills are checked each half term. Players are given an assessment when they join to makes sure they are in the correct group. Players move to the next stage when they have completed all the skills on the tracker. A matchplay element is included weekly in each session. The programme is paid for monthly by direct debit.

Rewards Scheme

The whole team at Diamond Tennis Academy value our students, and its important for us to reward the hard work and commitment they put in. For our kids programmes, students can earn Bronze, Silver and Gold rewards in every session they attend. Attendance, effort and progression are a few examples of the qualities we seek to cultivate. Students  will be congratulated on their hard work at a presentation ceremony in March each year.

Individual lessons

If you are looking to add individual lessons to your weekly programme then please contact us. Your coach will be able to advise you. Please note that only coaches specifically trained to deliver individual lessons will be used and so spaces are limited.

Schools visits

Would you like us to visit your school? DTA usually visit 1000 children per year to help grow the game. This is mostly self funded, at no charge to the school. We love working with like minded schools keen to offer their pupils the chance to try a new sport.

Please contact Director of Tennis Sena Tengey on 02920 689382

Diamond Tennis Academy works closely with local schools to give their pupils a chance to try tennis, the opportunity to benefit from coaching by professional tennis coaches, and help in setting up competitions. We have helped these schools develop a tennis programme, which has assisted them in setting up and maintaining school tennis teams.

We have worked with St Bernadette’s, Ysgol Pencae, Marlborough, Coed Glas and Ton yr Ywen, Tregann, Ninian Park, Llandaff City, St Mary’s Primary and hope to again soon.

DTA has also worked with Llanishen High, Cardiff High, St Teilos, and Llanderyn High Schools to encourage more teenagers to play tennis.

With a new partnership with Cardiff and the vale college starting in March 2017 we look forward to bringing more tennis to the college through touch tennis competitions, tennis leaders course, and further volunteer and work placements.
