MAY 2020 NEWSLETTER
Sessions we owe our customers
We thank all our customers for staying with us during this difficult time. We appreciate that each person has unique circumstances and will work with everyone as best we can for the benefit of the players.
On the monthly system, customers are paying for 39 session in 12 equal payments. Now instead of the group sessions we will be converting that payment into a 25 minute one to one session.
Players who have continued their payment, and continue to do so, will be owed 15 (14 for the Monday groups) this will convert to 15 x 25 min one-to-one sessions. These players will have a 48 hour priority booking period once we open up bookings and will book 2 sessions back. This should allow us to catch up on all the sessions by the end of July.
For players who have stopped their payment with us, we will also be offering the 25 minute one to one sessions. The number of sessions we owe you will depend on when your last payment came out. Roughly, if your last payment was
March 1st we owe 2 sessions*
April 1st we owe 5 sessions*
May 1st we owe 8 sessions*
June 1st we owe 12 sessions*
We will be offering you slots to take these sessions in 25 minute block to allow as many players as possible the chance to get on court as soon as possible. If you have cancelled your payments and would like to book on for additional sessions then you can do this via our website. Details will be available once we have a confirmed start date.
As in previous years we haven’t run the programme during the school summer holidays. Currently we will continue that this year, but if customers would like additional sessions during August then we can book it. There would be an additional cost for this.
We appreciate that this isn’t exactly what you signed up for however, this is the best we can do in these exceptional circumstances. If these sessions aren’t suitable then please let me know and I will see what we can do to help.
*as sessions stopped on Monday 16th March Monday groups have had one more sessions than the other groups. So they will have 1 less one to one session than the numbers advertised.
20/4/20 Tennis update
When are we back on court
With the extension of the lockdown until 7th May we have had to adjust our plan of when we will be back on court. We are now aiming to be back on court for sessions as normal from the 1st June. If you are still paying monthly for the sessions I and the rest of the team thank you for this. We plan to run catch up sessions in the form of camps starting from 26th-29th May (formally May half term week) Junior Camps will run from 9-12 or 9-3, and give us enough time to catch up with missed sessions. Further details of these sessions will be communicated on the 8th May.
If you have paused your payments and intend to restart with us from 1st June then we will communicate to you on the 8th May how to do this ready for the resumption of sessions.
All plans are subject to change as it must be safe to get back on court. If changes to this plan are required, we will communicate that to you via our website and email.
Kind regards

Diamond Tennis Academy Director
Sessions cancelled until 20th April
Dear players and parents,
I’m writing to let you know that due to the advice of the LTA, Tennis Wales and local government we will be stopping all sessions until the 20th April. Our website is the best place to stay updated as to what is happening.
With the crisis developing each day we feel this is the right measure to ensure the safety of our staff, customers, their families and the local community. At present all DTA staff are well and missing our players. We hope that you and your families are well and that you remain so.
We will be catching up on the 3 weeks of missed lessons during the weeks of 20th July-9th August. These were previously summer holiday break weeks. We would appreciate that you keep your payments as they are, this will enable us to pay our staff and other suppliers. However each families situation is different so if you are looking to cancel then please send me an email and I will make the necessary arrangements.
Our team has been on court yesterday putting together video content for all our players which will go live on our YouTube channel on Tuesday. We appreciate that some may have limited space and little equipment. The practices can be adapted to fit a small space. With regards equipment if players don’t have their own rackets and balls the please let me know. I will arrange to be at the House of Sport on Tuesday between 10-11am to loan out equipment to our players. Please email me in advance of this if you need equipment.
Please stay safe, be well and if there is anything else we can do to help then please let me know.
Kind regards
Sena Tengey
Director of Diamond Tennis Academy
We will be back in touch on the 17th April
Cancellation of sessions until 23rd March
Dear all,
With the worsening of the current crisis and the updated advice from the government and LTA, we will be stopping all coaching sessions with immediate effect for an initial period up until 23rd March.
We hope that we are able to do our part to limit non essential contact during this critical time, and allow our customers, their families and our staff to remain as safe as possible during this difficult time.
Our plan, if we have to cancel face to face sessions for an extended period is to continue to do as much coaching remotely during this time and to reschedule the missed classes at a time which is safe to do so. This may be in the form of additional weeks potentially during the summer holidays or additional all day sessions at a weekend. The exact details of this will be communicated to you once we know how many sessions have been missed. I’m sure you can appreciate that this is a developing situation and we are doing our best to firstly help to keep people safe and second to secure the business.
From next week we will have some online sessions, some fitness based and some skill based for you to access and hopefully this will be the first step to expanding our online offering to our customers.
Stay well and I will be back in contact on the 21st March
Kind regards
Sena Tengey
Director of Diamond Tennis Academy.
